Scuba certification-
Open water and Beyond

OceansWide SCUBA certifications are SDI basic open water certifications. We offer the “Basic Open Water” certification which allows you to dive down to 60 feet on SCUBA (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus). For those who are already certified we offer upper level certifications ranging from Advanced Open Water to Assistant Instructor.
The certification process consists of self-study book, a minimum of six hours pool time and four open ocean checkout dives. We will support your lesson studies offering three classroom sessions and two additional hours in the swimming pool (pool sessions will be held at the Boothbay Regional YMCA, Kennebec Vally YMCA, Wiscasset Community pool or MDI YMCA or other pools as indicated by the instructor). This is designed to build your confidence and comfort while diving. Helping you to become a comfortable and confident diver ensures you enjoy the experience which means more time in the water!
Once you receive your Basic Open-Water certification with us you are a part of the OceansWide Dive Club! This means you will have the support of our dive team should you have any questions, you will be able to rent dive gear from us at a lesser cost than regular rentals. You will have an open invitation to join our local dive excursions and work with us to plan and participate in dive vacations! The dive club will offer continued diver education that will enable you to work your way to a dive master certification. As we grow we will offer more dive experiences and FUN!
