Marine Technology and Science Camp

When: July 21st- August 3rd, 2019

 

Who: Students Grade 5-8

 

Cost: $3,600 per student. 

Students will spend two weeks on the coast of Maine, nurturing a love and understanding of the ocean and science through hands-on learning and research.

 

Activities:

  • At-sea and inter-tidal science, including whale watching

  • Activities with scientists on the Maine coast

  • Engineering design of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s) and sampling devices

  • Lab & field life sciences activities examining inter-tidal flora and fauna - plankton and algal  diversity

  • Geosciences activities examining coastal geology

  • Physical sciences activities examining weather, tides, and waves

  • Maritime studies including navigation and local maritime history
