OceansWide seeks to provide an ever evolving
educational curriculum which lights the fire of students
along Maine's coast, the Eastern Seaboard, and beyond.
We are committed to inspiring students to become more involved in oceanographic
research while learning of the global need to conserve the world's oceans
starting with discovering the hidden secrets beneath the waters of coastal
Maine.
Our mission is to educate students through a cross curricular
and collaborative program designed to facilitate the requests
of the individual school's participating in the OceansWide
sea adventure. What makes OceansWide unique is its ability
to provide students the opportunity to be directly involved
in both ship operations as well as the scientific process.
To paraphrase an old Chinese Proverb:
