OceansWide 2009 Summer Camps - Practical Details
Drop-off and Pick-Up
Monday - First day of camp
Drop-off at 8:45am, Pick-up at 4:00pm - Campers Meet at the Round Top Center for the Arts at 170 Main St in Damariscotta.
Parental paperwork - PARENTAL SIGN IN and review of all required Release and Medical information is required on the first morning before your camper can commence their week with OceansWide.
All Other Camp Days
Drop-off an Pick-up will be at the Darling Marine Center (193 Clarks Cove Rd, ME 04573)
What to Bring
Please Note: Remember that you are responsible for carrying your own gear, so please pack only what you can carry in one backpack with a plastic bag to hold any wet clothing. Also cotton clothing/jeans take a long time to dry and do not retain their warming properties when wet. Your best choices include quick drying polyester, synthetics, nylon as well as fleece, and wool.
- 1 short sleeved shirt - preferably non cotton
- 1 warm wool sweater or polar fleece
- 1 warm hat, wool or fleece
- 1 nylon sport swim suit or trunks - quick drying!
- Rain jacket
- 2 water bottles - any small clean recycled soda bottle will work
- Sun screen!! SPF 30 or higher
- Bug Spray!!!
- Baseball or Sunhat!!
- 1 pair of comfortable closed toed play shoes - ie: sneakers
- 1 pair of water shoes - closed toed only
- Packed Lunch - "ready to eat" and substantial
- Any medications that you will need for the week to be provided to staff on the first day of camp
What NOT to Bring
- Flip flops or open-toed sandals
- Two piece bathing suit
- Candy or Soda
- Cigarettes, Alcohol or Drugs
- Weapons: this includes knives or any sort of item that could be considered a weapon.
- Any electronic equipment: games, toys, cell phones, radios or ipods
