Welcome to OceansWide!
We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to put students and scientists together at sea in the Gulf of Maine. Our team is made up of a dedicated group of scientists, teachers and marine professionals who believe it is important to educate the students of Maine about the amazing and mysterious world that exists offshore. We are excited about having students work with scientists to determine research goals, participate in the actual at-sea research, and write reports on their findings. All of this happens while getting wet on the deck of our research ship.

OceansWide is back in Maine! After a wonderful cross country trip to California, we not only retrieved the Phantom DS2 ROV that was donated to us by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, we connected with nearly 3,000 students and educators all across the country that share our passion for teaching science to young minds. We sincerely thank everyone who helped us along this trek and shared with us your love of science and teaching. The OceansWide crew is excited to continue our mission to bring the latest in marine science technology and education to students across the country.
